What I do

  • 01

    Websites

A site Google finds, and that is simply there when it opens on a phone. You keep the text and the pictures current yourself, usually in WordPress.

  • 02

    (Web) Apps

For the parts of the work no off-the-shelf product covers: bookings, rosters, receipts. I build the thing and keep it running afterwards.

  • 03

    Training

On your own repository rather than an example project: Docker, deployment, tests. The good questions only turn up once it is your own code.

  • 04

    Consulting

Sometimes nobody needs new software, just a different setting in the system they already have. I say so before you commission anything.

Selected projects

  • For Tapete Bar

    PaxManBookings and daily operations

    Web app Concept, build, operation

    The situation
Bookings stood in a notebook behind the bar, the rest in a chat group. The same table going out twice was no rarity.
    The result
Now everybody writes into the same overview of the day, with rosters, roles and a record of who changed what. Running every day since the pilot.
  • Open source

    BettyCLI for local development domains

Command line tool Own project, published on npm

    The situation
Ten projects on one machine, each with its own proxy and its own port. At some point you no longer know what is on 3000.
    The result
One command hangs the containers of a project on a shared Traefik and gives them a local domain with HTTPS. On npm, with signed binaries for six platforms.

    modocu.comProduct website

Website Support on backend, Docker and CI/CD

    The situation
A product site that keeps taking on new content. Every change had to reach production without anybody sitting down on the server over SSH.
    The result
WordPress on Bedrock and Sage, plus the Docker setup and a pipeline that ships to staging first and to production after. Over 560 commits in four months.

    fuplaBackend for an events app

    Backend Lead developer

    The situation
An app for events and groups where people also write to each other. The backend has to take that, including the evenings when everybody is on at once.
    The result
API, realtime over Socket.io, push, automatic moderation, tests. Three years, twenty releases.

    raeumungen.atHouse clearance and removals

    Website Built together

    The situation
A Viennese clearance and removals firm needs a site where it is clear before the phone call what gets done and what it costs.
    The result
Service pages and a blog on Bedrock and Sage, the content as Gutenberg blocks to build with. Docker and deployment on top, half a year between the two of us.

Who builds your project

I work freelance and on my own. You write to me, and I am also the one who writes the code afterwards. No project manager in between, no handover to a team that is seeing your project for the first time.

I have been building web applications for about seven years, for agencies, in teams and for my own clients. The one I am fondest of is a booking system for a bar: a notebook behind the counter before, and now everybody in the house reads the same overview of the day.

Servers, Docker and deployment come along with it. I would rather set that up myself than guess later why it does not run on a different machine.

Tell me about your project.

A few sentences are enough: what it is about and when you need it. If I am not the right person for it, I will tell you that too.
